Wayne Hunter, a member of the Cayuga County Sheriff Department, and his son Dillon, affiliated with the Weedsport Fire Department, have been recognized as local heroes facing a challenging time.
The community is urged to generously contribute to the ‘Fill the Boot’ campaign, a fundraiser aimed at providing financial support to the Hunter family during this difficult period. The Hunters have been known for their significant contributions to the local school and community, making it a poignant time for the community to give back.
Donations are being accepted at Hurdy’s Redemption & Beverage Center, with drop-off points located at 2523 New York Route 31 and 1118 New York Route 5 in Weedsport and Elbridge, NY, respectively. The initiative represents a unified effort to support the father-son duo as they courageously fight their illnesses.
