Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson gave an update on a serious crash involving three vehicles in the area of State Route 96 and County House Road in Fayette. On Wednesday January 17 around 7:45 p.m. deputies responded for the report of a three-car crash.
Upon arrival, deputies observed significant damage to all three vehicles and multiple drivers were injured. Upon further investigation it was determined that Timothy D. Roberts, age 37 of Geneva was traveling east on County House Road when his vehicle, a black Subaru Impreza, did not stop at a posted stop sign at the intersection of County House Road and State Route 96.
Vivian C. Becker, age 28 of Romulus was traveling south on State Route 96 when her vehicle, a white Volkswagen Jetta was struck on the passenger side by Roberts vehicle. This led to Becker’s vehicle being pushed into the northbound lane of State Route 96 where Matthew B. Foster, age 28 of Waterloo who was traveling north on State Route 96 in a white Honda Civic, struck the driver side of Becker’s vehicle, causing it to overturn.
Both Becker and Roberts sustained injuries from the crash and were subsequently transported by ambulance to local hospitals for further evaluation and treatment.
Roberts was issued several uniform traffic tickets in relation to the crash and will answer the charges in the Town of Fayette Court at a later date. The Waterloo Fire Department, North Seneca and South Seneca Ambulance, and New York State Police assisted the Seneca County Sheriffs office on scene.
