Clifton Springs woman charged with animal cruelty for abandoning two kittens and dog

Alyssa Rondon, a 33-year-old woman from Clifton Springs, has been arrested on charges of animal cruelty and abandonment. Before her scheduled eviction from her East Main Street apartment on January 4, Rondon left the property, abandoning two grey kittens and a tan German Shepherd.

The Ontario County Humane Society discovered the animals in a deplorable state. The apartment was littered with urine, feces, and rotting food, with no food or water left for the pets. The animals were also found to be infested with fleas and gnats.

After a warrant was issued, Rondon was arrested at a Geneva motel by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office. She was then taken to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment. Meanwhile, the rescued kittens and dog are now receiving care at the Happy Tails Animal Shelter, under the supervision of the Ontario County Humane Society.
