In Cameron, a man has been apprehended on several charges related to a burglary incident and animal cruelty.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of 35-year-old James A. Margeson from Cameron. Margeson is accused of stealing property, altering a vehicle identification number, and causing damage to stolen property.
Additionally, he faces allegations of neglecting to provide necessary care to four dogs, who have since been rescued.
The charges against Margeson include two counts of criminal possession of stolen property, which are felonies. He is also charged with forgery of a VIN, tampering with physical evidence, and criminal mischief, all class E felonies.
Furthermore, Margeson faces a charge for failing to provide sustenance to a domestic animal.
The charges will all be answered in local court at a later date.
