On November 12 at approximately 4:11 p.m. deputies responded to a single-car accident near the intersection of State Route 89 and Canoga Island Road in the town of Fayette.
Upon arrival, deputies found three occupants in the vehicle, with the driver, 62-year-old Sergey Klimova of Webster, reported to be unharmed. However, two passengers, Svetlana Braun, 52, and Valentina Klimova, 94, also from Webster, suffered head and neck injuries.
North Seneca Ambulance and Finger Lakes Ambulance attended the scene, providing immediate medical attention.
Both Braun and Klimova were transported to Geneva General Hospital for further treatment.
The preliminary investigation by the deputies revealed that the accident occurred when Sergey Klimova swerved to avoid a deer, leading to the crash.
Despite the incident, Klimova was not cited for the accident.
The response to the accident included assistance from the Canoga Fire Department and the Fayette Fire Department.
