Authorities gave an update on the juvenile male from Geneva arrested on charges of unlawful possession of a weapon on school grounds after an incident at BOCES in Seneca last week.

The arrest, made on Monday, November 6 followed an incident from the previous week at the Finger Lakes Technical and Career Center in the town of Seneca.

The incident occurred on November 2, when the young individual was discovered carrying a Glock BB gun within the school’s premises. The presence of the weapon at the educational facility prompted immediate police action, given the stringent regulations against firearms and imitation guns on school property.

An appearance ticket was issued to the male, who is set to appear in the Town of Seneca Court to face the charges at a later, unspecified date. The case brings attention to the ongoing concern of weapons in schools and the measures being enforced to maintain a safe environment for students and staff.
