The New York Mets completed a doubleheader sweep of the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday at Citi Field, winning the opener 4-3 before taking the nightcap 11-4.
GAME 1 RECAP
The Mets jumped out to a 4-0 lead and held on in the ninth inning despite Adam Ottavino giving up two runs.
Pete Alonso and Brett Baty recorded RBI, while Omar Narvaez smashed his second home run of the season.
Tylor Megill allowed just one run over 7.1 innings while striking out seven. The right-hander improved to 9-8 on the season.
GAME 2 RECAP
Francisco Alvarez homered twice, including his first career grand slam, and collected a carer high six RBI, helping the Mets pick up the blowout victory.
Francisco Lindor hammered his 31st home run, while Brett Baty and Tim Locastro drove in runs as well.
Jose Quintana surrendered four runs (three earned) over four innings while striking out five. Phil Bickford, Reed Garrett, and Drew Smith recorded scoreless appearances in relief.

The Mets will go for the three-game sweep on Sunday at 3:10 p.m. in their final game of the season.
