  • Staff Report

The Auburn Police Department is investigating an incident that occurred on September 28, 2023, involving a collision between a vehicle and a juvenile pedestrian at the intersection of North St. and Seymour St.

The police had initially responded to a reported two-car collision at approximately 6:51 am at the same location, which resulted in no injuries. However, while the police were still at the scene, a subsequent car-pedestrian accident occurred in a parking lot at the same intersection at around 7:07 a.m.

The juvenile, who had been walking eastbound on the southern sidewalk of Seymour St and was crossing North St, was struck by a vehicle traveling north on North St. The juvenile pedestrian was taken to Upstate Medical Center via ambulance due to potential head trauma as a precautionary measure.

The full details of the injuries are currently unclear, but the individual is expected to make a complete recovery. The driver of the involved mid-sized sedan, an adult female, was also transported to Auburn Community Hospital for evaluation but had no known injuries at the time.

The Auburn Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Team and Detective Bureau assisted at the scene, which was closed off for about three hours during the investigation.

The Auburn Police are urging anyone with additional information regarding the incident to come forward and contact the department, assuring that callers can remain anonymous.
