Finger Lakes chocolate shop introduces Fillipino street food Fridays

Local chocolatier Claire Benjamin of Rue Claire Artisan Chocolates is infusing a taste of the Philippines into the Finger Lakes region.

Starting this fall, on select Fridays – September 22, October 6, 13, and 20 – Rue Claire will extend its hours until 8 pm and offer traditional Filipino street food, an addition not found elsewhere in Central NY or the Southern Tier. While chocolate remains the centerpiece, these special evenings provide visitors with a unique culinary experience.

Benjamin, a first-generation Filipino American, boasts deep roots in the Philippines’ food scene. With memories of her maternal grandfather’s traditional bakery and her paternal grandparents’ Goto food truck in Manila, Benjamin continues the family tradition. Since opening Rue Claire in Lodi in 2010, her innovative chocolates have garnered acclaim from outlets like Forbes, James Beard, and Travel+Leisure. Additionally, her breakfast offerings for glamping guests have earned rave reviews, with guests highlighting her culinary artistry and dedication to creating unforgettable experiences.

Situated on the Route 414 wine trail, known as a foodie hotspot in the Finger Lakes, Rue Claire now adds to the trail’s diverse offerings. As Filipino cuisine gains popularity in cities like DC, Atlanta, and Las Vegas, Benjamin’s venture promises a fresh dining experience in the area. Reservations are encouraged for Filipino Street Food Fridays. For menu updates and more information, visitors can check out Rue Claire’s social media pages or call 702-897-8909 for bookings and takeout orders.
