Topgolf could be coming to Rochester soon

International driving range chain, Topgolf, has submitted a letter of intent to the town of Brighton outlining plans to establish a facility at CityGate, located on Westfall Road. The proposed development, situated on an 18-acre segment of CityGate bordering the City of Rochester, would feature a two-story building covering 45,500 sq. ft., with the potential to draw an economic impact ranging between $10 million to $20 million annually.

The facility plans to offer more than just a driving range, intending to house 80 indoor driving range bays across two levels, each designed for recreational games. Additionally, it would include game targets in the outfield, a full-service restaurant and bar, indoor and outdoor seating areas, an event space, and on-site parking for up to 375 vehicles.

In their letter, Topgolf projects that the new establishment could attract approximately 250,000 visitors each year, create 300 permanent jobs, and offer 200 temporary construction positions. As part of their proposal, Topgolf is also seeking incentive zoning in alignment with Brighton’s 2028 developmental plan.
