A traffic stop in the Village of Newark has led to the arrest of two residents on weapon-related charges.
Michael Soliday, 21, and Chyann Hennigan, 19, are now facing charges of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
Deputies from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office conducted the traffic stop with Soliday at the wheel and Hennigan as his passenger.
An investigation revealed an unregistered, loaded handgun tucked under the driver’s seat. The authorities confirmed that neither individual held the necessary pistol permits, making their possession of the handgun unlawful.
Following the discovery, both Soliday and Hennigan were detained and taken to the Wayne County Jail.
