Students of Weedsport Central School District will witness a shift in their school’s security arrangement this academic year.
Following an agreement with the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, the district will now have a Special Patrol Officer provided by the sheriff’s office on premises, according to Finger Lakes News Radio.
This modification, approved during the $22.3 million budget decision for the 2023-34 academic year, comes after the Village of Weedsport declared it would no longer supply the district with a School Resource Officer.
