Mets roll past Braves in series opener

The New York Mets (59-67) rolled past the Atlanta Braves (80-44), 10-4, in the first game of a three-game series on Monday night at Truist Park.

Francisco Lindor, DJ Stewart, and Rafael Ortega all homered, while Jeff McNeil, Pete Alonso, and Daniel Vogelbach added run-scoring hits.

David Peterson surrendered four runs on seven hits over 4 2/3 innings. Phil Bickford, Sam Coonrod, Adam Ottavino, and Drew Smith recorded scoreless outings.

The Mets will try to win the series Tuesday at 7:20 p.m. with Tylor Megill on the mound.
