Burdett man indicted on arson, burglary charges in Schuyler County

There’s been a breakthrough on an arson investigation that began this past fall in Schuyler County.

Zane Seubert, 45, of Burdett, has been indicted by a Schuyler County Grand Jury on multiple charges, including third-degree arson, third-degree burglary, criminal mischief, and petit larceny.

Authorities claim that Seubert targeted a local storage facility in Burdett on March 18, committing burglary, criminal mischief, and larceny.

It is further alleged that following the storage facility incident, Seubert proceeded to the Hector Union Cemetery, where he is accused of another burglary and arson.

The investigation involved the collective efforts of the sheriff’s office, Burdett Fire Department, Schuyler County Fire Coordinators, and New York State Fire investigators.
