The New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) is investigating the daycare program at Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3), including The Arthur Kuckes Childcare Center and the FSA Childcare Center.
Though the agency did not reveal specific details, they stated that their “top priority is the health, safety and well-being of all children” and that they will investigate any complaints that could affect a program’s licensure status.
The investigation was prompted after concerns were raised about the treatment of children attending the centers, with two former staff members expressing dissatisfaction with the program.
TC3’s President Amy Kremenek confirmed that the college is conducting its own investigation. While acknowledging staff turnover in the program, Kremenek clarified that it may not be directly related to the investigation. She assured that the college will not ignore concerns and remains committed to high-quality care and cooperation with regulators.
The specific nature of the allegations and details of the ongoing investigation remain confidential at this time.
