Sheriff: Farmington teen ticketed, motorcyclist dead after crash at Rt. 332 and Colett Rd.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office has provided an update on a fatal crash that happened at the intersection of State Route 332 and Colett Road.

On Thursday around 5:30 p.m. deputies, as well as New York State Police, Victor Farmington Ambulance, and Farmington Fire responded to the intersection for the report of a crash involving a car and motorcycle.

Investigation determined that the vehicle, being operated by Cailyn Alianell, 18, of Farmington entered into the intersection and was turning south on State Route 332 from Collett Road when it collided with a motorcycle operated by Joshua Arena, 43, of Farmington.

Arena was pronounced dead at the scene. Alianell was issued a ticket for failure to yield the right of way.

The sheriff’s office said the investigation remains active, but drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors.

State Route 332 from Loomis Road to State Route 96 was closed while crews worked the scene.
