The Seven Wonders, a local Fleetwood Mac tribute band, took to the stage for their first performance since a serious accident in July, playing at Party at the Park in their hometown of Rochester on Thursday night.
The band was on its way to a gig in Syracuse when their trailer struck a tree and overturned on the New York State Thruway in Farmington. Band member Katy Eberts was airlifted to a hospital and is still recovering from multiple surgeries and severe injuries.
The Thursday performance was dedicated to Katy, with the sale of “Katy Strong” t-shirts and banners bearing the same message on stage. Band member Matthew Stephens, also recovering from the accident, performed with neck and back braces, proclaiming “Music is therapy.”
A GoFundMe campaign to support Katy’s family has already surpassed $60,000. The band’s return to the stage, filled with emotion and resilience, celebrated not just the music but the strength of one of their own.
