An Oswego County man, Thomas McCord, 45, of Palermo, has been arrested and charged with first-degree rape among other charges after allegedly assaulting a teen at a graduation party he hosted.
The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office reports that the party took place on Saturday, July 22, where McCord is said to have provided alcohol and marijuana to minors present.
The assault reportedly occurred in the early hours of Sunday, July 23, after the 16-year-old victim had consumed substances McCord provided.
In addition to rape, McCord faces charges of endangering the welfare of a child and unlawfully dealing with a child. Following his arraignment on Monday, he was released on pretrial conditions. The investigation into the incident is ongoing and anyone with additional information is urged to contact the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office.
