National Women’s Hall of Fame launches 48-hour fundraising campaign for 175th anniversary

The National Women’s Hall of Fame is holding a 48-hour fundraising campaign, aiming to gather at least 175 donations by Thursday 11:59 p.m. The campaign, celebrating the 175th anniversary of the inaugural women’s rights convention, has an anonymous donor pledging $15,000 if the goal of 175 donations is met. Donors can contribute online or join the 1848 Society to participate in the fundraiser.

Jennifer Gabriel, the Hall of Fame’s executive director, commented, “The 48 hours for equal rights giving challenge is an opportunity for us to reflect on the progress made over the past two centuries, but, more importantly, it’s a chance for us to continue the ongoing fight for true gender parity, here and around the globe.” Gabriel pointed out that the raised funds will be used to keep the Hall’s programs accessible and free to the public.

The first women’s rights convention in 1848 marked a significant moment in the fight for gender equality, laying the groundwork for the women’s suffrage movement. This fundraising drive honors that milestone while supporting the ongoing mission for gender parity.
