The city of Geneva has appointed Nicole Wright as its new city clerk, succeeding Lori Guinan who is set to retire later this year. After a rigorous selection process that started in spring and involved eight candidates, Wright’s appointment was made official at a special City Council meeting held July 10. Her role, with a starting salary of $70,000, begins on July 31.
Wright currently serves as a 911 dispatcher and is a part-time employee at her family’s locksmith business, with previous full-time experience there.
In addition to her professional background, she is a volunteer with the city Fire Department, notably attaining the title of emergency medical services lieutenant this year. A highly valued member of the department, she was named Firefighter of the Year in 2017.
