The Sterling Creek and Wolcott Creek sub-watersheds, located within multiple towns in New York, drain into Lake Ontario. Covering a combined area of 204 square miles, the watershed includes diverse ecosystems such as coastal areas, wetlands, forests, and streams.

The virtual meeting, scheduled for Thursday, will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to learn more about the IWAPs, including the identified actions, management strategies, and projects that aim to enhance the health and sustainability of the watershed. Interested individuals can register for the meeting on the DEC’s website.

For additional information and to explore the Sterling and Wolcott Creeks watershed in more detail, the public can visit the StoryMap website. The DEC encourages community participation in the meeting to ensure a collaborative and informed approach to preserving and improving the watershed’s ecological integrity.
