The New York Mets (30-27) completed a three-game sweep of the Philadelphia Phillies (25-31) with a 4-2 victory on Thursday afternoon at Citi Field.
Mark Canha hit another go-ahead two-run home run, his second in as many days, while Max Scherzer allowed two runs (one earned) over seven innings. The right-hander also struck out nine batters.
Jeff McNeil added a run-scoring single, and Mark Vientos chipped in with a pinch-hit sacrifice fly.
With Adam Ottavino and David Robertson having pitched in back-to-back games, Buck Showalter went to Jeff Brigham, Brooks Raley, and Drew Smith to get the final six outs.
The Mets will continue their homestand on Friday with a three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays. Justin Verlander will get the nod, with the first pitch set for 7:10 p.m.
