Auburn man convicted of stabbing at local bar

A local Auburn man has been convicted of a knife assault on a bar worker in 2022.

District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci of Cayuga County announced on Thursday that Gregory Jordan, 40, was found guilty of felony assault following an attack at Swifty’s Bar.

On May 29th last year, just before 2:30am, Jordan inflicted a stab wound over three inches long on the victim’s neck. He was detained by the police within minutes of the incident.

Jordan now potentially faces a prison sentence of up to seven years, with an additional three years of post-release supervision once sentenced in July. The district attorney expressed her hope that the conviction and eventual sentencing would offer a sense of justice and closure to the victim and his family.
