Fatal overdose leads to manslaughter charge in Schuyler County for Penn Yan man

Authorities are advancing serious charges against a local man involved in a fatal overdose.

Ted Miller, a 65-year-old resident of Penn Yan, has been accused of felony manslaughter in Schuyler County.

Law enforcement officials state that Miller was implicated in the death of Kimberly Owens, allegedly due to drugs he sold to her in March of 2022. However, the nature of the drugs involved in this case remains undisclosed.

Miller is not only facing charges of manslaughter but has also been indicted for felony criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Following his arraignment on Thursday, he has been detained at Schuyler County Jail with bail denied. This major arrest follows a collaborative effort by the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Department and the Schuyler County District Attorney’s Office in their campaign against drug-related fatalities.
