The New York Yankees made a couple of roster moves ahead of Thursday’s series finale against the Toronto Blue Jays.
The club placed starting catcher Jose Trevino on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain and recalled Ben Rortvedt from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Trevino sustained the injury late in Wednesday’s extra-inning loss to Toronto. The 30-year-old is hitting .219/.265/.33 with three home runs and 11 RBIs in 30 games this season.
When Rortvedt appears in a game, it will be his Yankee debut. Rortvedt, 25, was hitting .327/.421/.612 with three homers and 10 RBIs in 14 minor league games this season.
