Since 2017, all eleven of New York state’s Finger Lakes have been affected by harmful algal blooms. These outbreaks threaten the region’s tourism and drinking water supply. Bloom breaks down the potential culprits that may be playing a part in this environmental disruption. But, more importantly, the film highlights a region’s call to action to solve this growing problem.
