Waterloo Village Court dissolves: Where will tickets or cases be handled?

Waterloo Village Court has officially been dissolved, affecting residents with pending traffic tickets and criminal cases. The announcement comes as cases are now set to be handled in either the Waterloo Town Court or the Fayette Town Court, depending on the location where the ticket was issued.

For individuals who received tickets north of the Canal, their cases will be transferred to the Waterloo Town Court. Conversely, cases concerning tickets issued south of the Canal will be managed by the Fayette Town Court. The change aims to streamline the judicial process for residents in the area.

The Waterloo Police Department is proactively reaching out to those with pending matters, encouraging them to contact the appropriate court directly. To facilitate the transfer of cases, individuals are urged to email the respective court with their name, date of birth, address, and plea (guilty or not guilty).

For those whose cases have been transferred to the Waterloo Town Court, they can be reached via email at [email protected] or by phone at (315) 539-3213. If your case is now under the jurisdiction of the Fayette Town Court, contact them at [email protected] or call (315) 585-6282 x 1.
