Another Section V girls basketball team is headed to the New York State Finals.
The Canandaigua Braves (21-5) took down the Manhasset Indians (24-2), 55-42, in the NYS Class A Semifinal on Friday afternoon at Hudson Valley Community College.

It was a low-scoring defensive battle in the first half as Canandaigua led 19-4 at the break, but the scoring picked up in the final 16 minutes. The Braves outscored Manhasset 36-28 in the second half to secure the victory.
Mya Herman led three Braves in double figures with a game-high 14 points on 7-of-12 shooting. Eily Hubler scored 13 points, and Kayleigh Chapman recorded a double, netting 12 points and securing 13 rebounds.
Canandaigua will try to win their first state title when they face the Walter Panas Panthers (22-5) on Saturday at 7 p.m.
