An Oswego County man who was arrested by the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office in February for driving drunk to the scene of a crash, is now believed to have been driving the vehicle involved in the rollover.
Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck says Zachary A. Forshee has received additional criminal charges related to the incident.
Deputies originally thought Forshee drove to the rollover on Ferris Road in the town of Ira to check up on someone he knew who had been in the crash. However, further investigation revealed that Forshee had been driving the vehicle involved in the rollover and left the incident after the crash before returning in a different vehicle when deputies saw him approach the scene.
Forshee is now charged with leaving the scene of an incident without reporting, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and use of a motor vehicle without an ignition interlock device, and a violation related to moving from a lane unsafely, in connection with the February incident.
