Troopers say one person was killed after an ATV accident on Wednesday.
Paul W. Swisher, a 63-year-old resident of Tully, New York, was identified by state police as the victim in the wreck.
State Police in Lafayette were dispatched to the scene of the accident at around 4:44 p.m. The incident occurred at 1916 Route 11A in the town of Lafayette, Onondaga County.
According to the investigation, Swisher was riding an ATV on his property when his family and friends, who were also using the trails, discovered the overturned ATV. Upon approaching the vehicle, they found Swisher pinned underneath and unresponsive. Emergency medical services arrived at the scene and pronounced Swisher dead.
The preliminary investigation indicates that Swisher may have suffered a medical event that caused the accident, with no indications of foul play. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the official cause of death.
