Ithaca police: Bicyclist resisted arrest after traffic stop in city

The Ithaca Police Department reports the arrest of a bicyclist after officers attempted a traffic stop at the intersection of State and Plain streets in the city.

It happened January 29th around 4 a.m., according to police, who said Briand Borders, 36, of Ithaca gave officers a fake name.

Borders was charged with false personation, resisting arrst, and criminal possession of a controlled substance. He also had a bench warrant out of Tompkins County Court.

Borders was remanded to the Tompkins County Jail and will answer the new charges at a later date.
