Steuben store heavily damaged, suffers roof collapse after massive fire

A serious fire broke out at Hillview Acres flea market on Rt. 226 in Savona on Tuesday afternoon, causing significant damage to the building and vehicles parked nearby.

Reports of the fire first came in around 2:00 p.m. on January 24th. Photos from the scene show that sections of the roof have collapsed and the building has sustained significant damage. Crews were still on the scene and smoke was still pouring from the building as of 3:15 p.m.

According to U-Haul, Hillview Acres LLC had partnered with the trucking company in November 2022 as a dealer for trucks, towing equipment, moving supplies, and in-store box pickup for the Savona area.

Details on the fire are extremely limited, and the cause of the fire is not yet known. No injuries have been reported.
