Dr. Scibelli brings decades of experience, including service at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia, and with Fleet Marine Force units at Camp Lejeune. He operated under pressure in conflict zones and aboard Navy ships, supporting missions during Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and the Global War on Terror.

“This unique opportunity to develop vascular surgery capability at Auburn Community Hospital is the culmination of my past 18 years in the field,” Scibelli said. “I am excited to offer vascular surgical care tailored to each patient’s unique clinical situation. This is my objective, always.”

A graduate of Franklin and Marshall College and Temple University School of Medicine, Scibelli was named “Trauma Resident of the Year” during his time with Christiana Care Health Services. Since 2015, he has served patients in the Finger Lakes region, where he now lives with his wife and two children.

Auburn Community Hospital leaders called the hire a milestone for their surgical program.

“Having Dr. Scibelli on staff strengthens our existing team of highly respected surgeons, hard-working nurses, and dedicated support personnel,” said President and CEO Scott Berlucchi. “This addition… solidifies Auburn Community Hospital’s stellar reputation of providing high-quality care.”

Dr. Jamie Syrett, Chief Medical Officer, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Scibelli… Adding a surgeon of his caliber and expertise is a huge plus not only for ACH, but for the region as a whole.”
