The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office provided an update on a fatal one-car crash that happened on State Route 79 in the town of Hector.
According to a news release, Jerry Barnard, 64, was westbound on Route 79 near Route 414 when his vehicle left the road and overturned.
The accident took place on January 12th, according to deputies, who say Barnard suffered a medical emergency.
He was transported to Schuyler Hospital, then Robert Packard Hospital before passing away. Deputies said Barnard suffered a medical emergency prior to the accident.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by New York State Police, Watkins Glen Police, Burdett Fire, and Schuyler EMS.
