After over a week between games, Syracuse defeated ACC foe Boston College, 79-65. They move to 9-5 on the season and 2-1 in the ACC, while The Eagles drop to 7-7 (1-2).
The Orange started slow, not taking their first lead of the game until halfway into the first half. They would build on that lead, taking a nine-point lead into the break.
The Eagles did not make it easy for the Orange, as they were able to stay in the game until the very end. Syracuse never led by more than 10 until the final minutes.
Joe Girard paced the Orange offense with 24 points, including four made three-pointers. Sophomore Benny Williams had one of his best games of the season, notching 16 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman guard Judah Mintz had 18 points. Jesse Edwards chipped in 10 points and hauled in 8 rebounds.
Makai Ashton-Langford led the way for Boston College with 14 points. T.J. Bickerstaff chipped in 12.
Syracuse looks to build off the positive momentum as they travel to Louisville to take on the Cardinals on January 3. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
