Captain Kyle Okposo led the way with a hat trick, his first since 2016 as a member of the New York Islanders. Casey Mittelstadt netted two goals, while Jeff Skinner also put one in the back of the net. Owen Power, Zemgus Girgensons, and JJ Peterka each notched a pair of assists.
Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen started between the pipes and stopped 28-of-31 shots, including 14 in the final period.
Buffalo converted once on five power-play opportunities while going 2-for-3 on the penalty kill.
