Months long drug investigation involving state police, Elmira PD, and others results in three arrests after seizure in Schuyler County

State police arrested three Burdett residents following a drug investigation in the town of Hector.

According to a news release, the New York State Police Troop E , Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET), Troop E K9, Troop E Uniform and the Elmira Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a methamphetamine investigation in Hector, Schuyler County.


As result, 32 grams of methamphetamine, packaging materials, digital scales, and cellular phones were seized.

Robert Bump, age 51, Michael Barsavage, age 65, and Donald Vertoske, age 48, all of whom resided in Burdett were charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.

Police said the arrests were the result of a several month long investigation conducted by state police and the Elmira Police Department.

All three were remanded to the Schuyler County Jail to await arraignment.
