The New York Yankees were just swept in the American League Championship Series by the Houston Astros, but owner Hal Steinbrenner still thinks Aaron Boone is the man to lead them.
Steinbrenner told Mark Didtler of the Associated Press that he does not see a change coming at the managerial position.
“As far as Boone’s concerned, we just signed him, and for all the same reasons I listed a year ago, I believe he is a very good manager,” Steinbrenner said. “I don’t see a change there.”
Boone was hired by the Yankees prior to the 2018 season. Following the 2021 season, he signed a three-year extension with a team option for 2025.
The Yankees have made the postseason in all five years that Boone has been there, but they have not won a World Series in 13 years.
