Deputies say a 30-year-old was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital after a one-car crash along Route 14A in Barrington, Yates County on Tuesday.
It happened around 6 p.m. north of Porters Corners Road when a vehicle crossed the center line and southbound lane – leaving the roadway.
The vehicle ended up traveling nearly 300 yards before striking a ditch and culvert. It then struck a tree and came to rest in a wooded area.
The operator was identified as 30-year-old Jacob Johansen, a Washington State resident, had to be cut out of his vehicle.
Firefighters from the Dundee Fire Department, Dundee Ambulance, Medic 55, and Yates County Office of Emergency Management all responded to the scene.
LifeNet airlifted Johansen to Strong Hospital.
Deputies added that the investigation remained active, but charges are pending.
