Cornell senior Maisie McManus was named to the Academic All-Ivy team for women's cross country Wednesday, recognizing her work in competition and the classroom.
McManus, a global and public health major, was nominated by her coaches for the honor, according to Cornell Athletics.
McManus was Cornell's top finisher at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships on Oct. 31. She placed 21st, covering the 6-kilometer course in 21 minutes, 12 seconds at the Mark Coogan Cross Country Course at Highland Park in Attleboro, Massachusetts.
“Maisie ran steady and composed in a race that was frantic from the start,” Cornell coach Mike Henderson said in the team's announcement.
Cornell finished eighth in the eight-team championship with 206 points.
