The New York Yankees made a roster move ahead of Friday’s series opener against the Milwaukee Brewers.
The team reinstated veteran reliever Aroldis Chapman from the 15-day injured list. To clear a spot on the 40-man roster, New York designated righty Ryan Weber for assignment.
Chapman missed about three weeks with an infected wound from a tattoo. The 34-year-old owns a 4.70 ERA over 30 2/3 innings this season.
Weber has been designated for assignment four times this season.
