Goodwill of the Finger Lakes has brought its signature thrift shopping experience to Geneva, cutting the ribbon on its newest store at 381 Hamilton St. in the Geneva Shopping Center.
The 14,000-square-foot location — Goodwill’s first in Geneva and third in Ontario County — occupies the former Tops Friendly Markets site and features remodeled retail space, ample parking, and a wide mix of secondhand clothing, household goods, seasonal items, and new merchandise. The first 100 shoppers at the grand opening received $10 gift cards.
“We are grateful to our new neighbors in Geneva for the warm welcome,” said Goodwill of the Finger Lakes President and CEO Jen Lake. “Today’s grand opening is yet another significant step that reflects our growth… and our continued investment in supporting the communities we serve.”

Proceeds from sales fund Goodwill’s community impact programs, including Vision Services, the 211/LIFE LINE and 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, the Goodwill Learning Academy, workforce development, and the Good Neighbor Program. The store also serves as a daily donation site.
State Senator Pam Helming called the opening “a powerful example of how smart redevelopment can make a big impact,” noting the transformation of a vacant market into “a bright, active, and welcoming space that will drive foot traffic, support local businesses, and strengthen the Geneva community as a whole.”
The Geneva store joins Goodwill’s locations in Victor and Canandaigua, part of a 14-store network across more than 20 upstate counties. Hours are 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sundays.
