It’s the end of an era at Wegmans.
The company announced that its SCAN app is shutting down this weekend.
The SCAN app allowed shoppers to scan items as they shopped around the store- saving time and money.
The change goes into effect Sunday, September 18, the company says.
Wegmans rolled out the app early in the pandemic to help increase contactless in-store shopping.
“The losses we are experiencing prevent us from continuing to make it available in its current state,” the company said in a statement.
