The 23rd Congressional District has new representation.

Congressman-elect Joe Sempolinski will be sworn-in to office on September 13.

It will take place at the US Capitol in Washington, D.C.

Sempolinski defeated Max Della Pia in last week’s special election to fill the remainder of former Congressman Tom Reed’s term.

He stepped down in May. The seat has been vacant since that point.

“I am looking forward to hitting the ground running for the people of the district” Sempolinski said. ”My entire team will be spending the time between now and the 13th doing everything we can to be ready to go after the swearing-in is completed. We will be working to get constituent services and legislative functions back up and running as quickly as possible.”
