Advocates: State leaders need to do something about mental health crisis in children

Advocates, parents, and leaders across the state are calling on lawmakers to address the mental health crisis impacting children.

A rally was held over the weekend, with advocates calling for increased support for children, youth, and families.

Since the coronavirus pandemic critical mental health screenings and access to services have declined.

Meanwhile, rates of anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and suicidal ideation among children has soared.

Those who rally called for awareness of the pressing mental health issues impacting kids.
