Seneca Lake Guardian hosts environmental education and advocacy event for teens today

Seneca Lake Guardian (SLG) will host environmental education and advocacy training for local students ages 12-18 today.

Participating students will meet SLG President Joseph Campbell and Vice President Yvonne Taylor at the Keuka Lake Outlet Trail Parking Area, located at 100 Seneca Street in Dresden.

The group will take a walk along Seneca Lake and around the Greenidge Generation cryptomine. SLG will discuss environmental threats to the Finger Lakes and how young people can be environmental advocates.

Later, SLG and students will write letters to Governor Kathy Hochul calling on her to protect the Finger Lakes.

The event starts at 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 18.
