Byrne Dairy, Inc.’s dairy plant in DeWitt has received some recognition.
It was named 2022 Dairy Plant of the Year by Dairy Foods Magazine for its accomplishments in aseptic production, food safety, and sustainability.
It’s a big moment for the company, which has been a staple in Upstate New York for years.
“It’s a great privilege to be named Dairy Plant of the Year,” said Byrne Dairy CEO Carl Byrne. “We are grateful for the last 90 years and are looking forward to the future. We owe our continued success to our longtime customers—many who have been with us for decades— and our dedicated employees. Our team continues to go above and beyond to produce a quality product, and we want to extend our gratitude for their commitment and teamwork—this award is for them.”
The facility has been in operation since 2004. It has also expanded every four years since opening. Currently, it employs around 210 people.
Dairy Plant of the Year is awarded to a facility that achieves outstanding accomplishments in expansion, construction, sustainability, food safety, employee safety, plant efficiencies, COVID-related efforts, or new technology.
There are other factors, too.
