Following the pursuit and arrest of a Rochester man in the city of Auburn, the Auburn Police Department announced a second pursuit and arrest connected to the sale of drugs.
Kyreese Gilliam, 26, of Auburn eluded police Thursday around 2 a.m. when officers attempted to stop him on Fitch Avenue.
Gilliam was followed by police to his home, where he abruptly jumped out and ran into the back yard. He was taken into custody after a brief, physical struggle.
Police say Gilliam possessed a loaded 9mm handgun and more than one-half ounce of cocaine. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a controlled substance. All of the charges were felonies.
He was also arrested on misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest and unlicensed operation.
