What states are getting stimulus checks?
Four more states have been added to the list of states that are distributing stimulus checks. Very soon checks should go out to residents of Indiana, Chicago, New Mexico and Maine.
As part of new Indiana law, the state will offer budget surplus to residents as a tax credit. This means that joint filers will get $250 and single filers will get $125. The goal is to have the payments sent by September.
In Chicago, those who qualify for UBI should have already gotten their first check– more than 3,500 households have been sent checks. Eligible citizens will get $500 as a UBI payment for one year via direct deposit or through a prepaid debit card.
In New Mexico, single filers making less than $75,000 will get $250 and joint filers making less than $150,000 will get $500. These checks should be arriving shortly.
Maine is sending checks worth $850 and the checks are set to be distributed by mid-July.
