Newark woman steals over $200 of merchandise from Canandaigua Walmart

A Newark woman was arrested following a shoplifting complaint.

According to a news release, the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office arrested Paula J. Biase, 62, of Newark for petit larceny.


Charges stem after a complaint from the Canandaigua Walmart. Biase was found to have concealed store merchandise into reusable bags and did not scan all her items at self checkout. She proceeded to pass all points of sale without rendering payment. The total value of the stolen merchandise amounted to be $255.68.

Biase will appear in the Hopewell Town Court at a later date.
